AABC “Shadow Day” @ AABC Headquarters, Orange County Fairgrounds

The All American Boys Chorus invites boys 8, 9 and 10 years old to be “AABC Shadows” and experience what it’s like to be an AABC chorister on Saturday, October 26th from 8:30 am to 1:00 pm! Shadow Day is free and will take place at the AABC Headquarters at the Orange County Fairgrounds in Costa Mesa. Boys participating in “Shadow Day” will begin the morning at 8:30 am with donuts and juice and an introduction to their AABC mentor (a member of the Concert Chorus). Then at 9:00 am they’ll kick off a busy and fun slate of singing, music classes and recreation. Throughout the morning AABC parents and staff members will be on hand to meet with parents of boys who are participating in Shadow Day to answer questions and provide information.

The AQMD Board has voted 7-6 to impose new restrictions on Southern California beach bonfire pits. Read more about the decision here.

The South Coast Air Quality Management District, “Cleaning the Air We Breath”, and giving environmentalism a bad name. No thanks to the AQMD, a puny coalition of Newport Beach/Corona Del Mar residents, and an already discredited and disgraceful council of “public servants” known as the Newport Beach City Council , public recreational activities will be curtailed by new restrictions on the distribution and location of fire pits located within 700 feet of homes. Doheny State Beach will be most affected by the new restrictions, which will take effect in March, 2014.

The City of Costa Mesa celebrated its 60th Anniversary over the weekend with a bonanza of fireworks, food, art, cars, and fun. Highlights included live painting by the likes of Mando, a classic car show, and a surprise appearance of Foo Fighters’ Dave Grohl with the band Chevy Metal.
